Habitat & Hunting Consultation

Through my job managing hunting properties for my clients, I am blessed to step foot on hundreds of properties throughout any given year. I get to see farms in various stages of work and ongoing projects that will help landowners and leaseholders reach their stated goals. I also have been blessed to have grown up with a family farm that I have been allowed to call my own and manage how I see fit.

My passion has always been whitetails first and foremost, but I also enjoy turkey and small game hunting. With over 20 years of managing my family farm, I've watched it be transformed from a property where the oldest buck in the area was 2.5 years old and the top-end bucks would reach 120 inches at best to regularly seeing age classes of 5.5 plus and top-end bucks being 150 inches plus, with the largest buck ever having been grown on our farm scoring 180 inches gross. I have personally killed a buck that grossed over 160 inches on our small farm and killed other above-average bucks for our area of the mid-South. My small 36-acre farm proves that you can produce quality bucks just about anywhere, and we continue to do so year after year.

The experience I've had over 20 plus years of managing my own farm, coupled with the 10 plus years of managing my clients’ properties in multiple counties in North Carolina and Virginia, have given me the knowledge and experience to diagnose problems and produce solutions to help clients reach their goals on their farms. I draw from my experience as both a hunter and land manager to leave the customer with a well-thought-out and unique plan to implement on their property.

The main reason I can rest assured that my plan will work for the client is that I've seen so many different properties and overcome so many obstacles to help my clients achieve their goals. I also view everything through the lens of a landowner because I am one. I treat all of my clients’ properties as if they were mine and give them the same attention that I would expect to be paid to my property.

It's also important to consider that your chosen wildlife consultant has achieved the goals they are working toward helping you achieve. I've been managing land for wildlife for over 20 years. I've been deer, turkey, quail, and dove hunting for over 25 years, and I have been managing hunting properties for a living for over 10 years. I've harvested mature bucks on my own properties with bows, guns, and muzzleloaders and worked on properties for lots of clients.

I love to tell folks that I've seen properties that range from being in extremely poor shape to being the top 1% of wildlife farms in their area. But I've never seen one that I can't make better. I bring that attitude with me to every farm I visit.
