Many years ago, Petersen’s Wildlife Management identified a seed availability shortage, as it pertained to access to quality and beneficial wildlife seed blends. Once we identified the need, we decided to begin providing high quality, and diverse seed offerings to the public. We view different plant species as yet another tool in the toolbox that can be used to fix or solve forage shortages, cover, soil fertility, erosion, low organic matter in the soil, etc.
PWM decided to not only provide diverse seed options, but begin to better understand and offer seed blends. These PWM blends can assist in solving forage production on landowner’s property. Our Plotstar brand of seed blends have been specifically formulated over many years of trial and error. We now offer these blends to meet site-specific soil needs, browse pressure, fertility conditions, and additionally provide high quality forage options to wildlife.
We didn’t just select a few seed species and throw them in a bag. We have planted many hundreds of acres of these blends and are constantly changing ratios of plants and species each season to increase yield and production. We have found that this ensures that we are providing the best blends to our customers and wildlife.
